6 questions we always ask: Daniel Olson, comic artist

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be featuring cartoonists who will exhibit at the Minneapolis Indie Xpo, an independent comic book festival happening on November 5-6, 2011, at The Soap Factory. This event is free and open to the public on both days from 10am-5pm. MIX features web cartoonists, self-published cartoonists, boutique publishers, and large publishing houses. Learn more about MIX exhibitors and programs.

Today we’ve got Daniel Olson who introduces himself like this: I am a straight-edge, mustachioed laden, indie comic artist residing in Nordeast Minneapolis with my wife, yet to be born child, cat, and a whole lot of books.

You can follow Daniel on Twitter.

What book(s) are you currently reading?
All of the Winnie the Pooh books. . . not sure which I’m actually reading though, since my head is currently stuck in a pot of honey.

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? Who?
Nope. I’m only into real people.

If your favorite author came to Minnesota, who would it be and what bar would you take him/her to?
Let’s see, if George Orwell were to come to town. . . First, I would be disturbed, because he is dead. Secondly, I think we’d skip the bar and just have a lemonade on my front stoop.

What was your first favorite book?
My first favorite book would be Green Eggs and Ham.

Let’s say Fahrenheit 451 comes to life, which book would you become in order to save it from annihilation?
I have two, Fahrenheit 451 and The Neverending Story

What is one book you haven’t read but want to read before you die?
I’d like to read Ulysses, but I fear that I’d fall asleep.
