Next weekend (a mere 6 days from today) is the Twin Cities Book Festival at Minneapolis Community & Technical College. Organized by Rain Taxi, this is the biggest book event (that I know of) in the Twin Cities.

This year it’s a doozy — Lorrie Moore! Nicholson Baker! Robert Olen Butler! Plus, it’s the kick-off of the Literary Twin Cities Scavenger Hunt. The Scavenger Hunt is a three-month celebration of Minnesota’s literary history and the anniversaries of Coffee House Press, Greywolf Press, Milkweed Editions, and The Loft.

The place promises to be filled with books, authors, and book-lovers. Best of all, the whole shindig is free!

I’ll be there, and I hope you’ll be there too! If you see a freakishly tall woman hyperventilating in the back of Lorrie Moore’s reading, that’ll be me. Stop by and say hi once I regain my composure.
