Lorna Landvik benefit for The Loft Literary Center

If you think about it, if it weren’t for The Loft, this site wouldn’t even exist. I love The Loft with a passion I usually reserve for Paul Westerberg, Elizabeth McCracken, and hating on Chuck Klosterman. It really is the place for writers and aspiring writers. It’s amazing. I could go on and on about how much I’ve learned through The Loft, and the wonderful people I’ve met there, but I won’t.
Anyway, like most non-profits around the nation, The Loft could use a little bit of help during the time of economic craptasticness. To help them out, Lorna Landvik (actor, comedienne, and author of a bajillion books, my favorite being Your Oasis on Flame Lake) is presenting her one-woman show “Party in the Rec Room” at 8 p.m. Friday, July 24th in the Target Performance Hall (it’s a really great, intimate space) in the Open Book, 1011 Washington Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55415.
This comedy bash is an improv tour-de-force with characters created on the spot with input from the audience. Only 200 tickets are available ($25 for most people, and $15 for starving artists — see how awesome The Loft is?).
To purchase tickets in person: visit the Loft offices at Open Book from 9 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Friday. To reserve tickets by phone: call the Loft at 612-215-2575; calls received during non-business hours must include your contact and credit card information and will be added to the reservation list on the following business day. Tickets reserved by phone will be held will-call style at the Loft, for pick up no more than one hour prior to the show.
