Twin Cities Book Festival & FallCon this weekend

It’s a gonna be a big, big Saturday for Twin Cities booknerds of all kinds.

In Minneapolis we’ve got the Twin Cities Book Festival. The Festival features all kinds of bookish delights including readings and talks by M.T. Anderson, Mary Catherine Bateson, Richard Paul Evans, James Howard Kunstler, and Frederic Tuten.

They’ve also got some kickass panels going on. Getting Started: Minnesota Debut Fiction moderated by Annie Baxter might as well be called “Minnesota Reads’ Favorite Authors.” The panel includes Peter Bognanni, Nicole Helget, and Wendy Webb.

There’s also one on Minnesota Comics featuring Will Dinksi (whose Fingerprints I read last weekend) and Bill Willingham (whose Fables vols. 1 & 2 I read the weekend before), this panel is moderated by Brit Aamodt author of the very much anticipated (by me) Superheroes, Strip Artists, & Talking Animals: Minnesota’s Contemporary Cartoonists.

Speaking of comics, if you’re more a comicbooknerd or if you dig St. Paul, then you should head over to the State Fair Grounds and check out FallCon. The list of artist appearing at the convention is as long as my arm. Seriously, take a look. I have to admit my eyes bugged out a little when I spied Ryan Kelly’s name on the list, he drew one of my favorite graphic novels of all time, Local.

Yeehaw! It’s quite a weekend in our Twin Cities. Which event are you going to attend?

I’m looking forward to your Fingerprints review, I have the book in my TBR pile and wool like to know if it’s worthwhile.
